Being the best human you can be, is about participation.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and wondering what life is all about?

If you are, you're not alone.

According to Yuval Noah Harari, in his book [21 Lessons for the 21st Century], many of us are feeling confused and uncertain about the future. We hear of a future where artificial intelligence will replace us in our jobs and question who we are, asking what is our purpose?

If you work in the human services sector perhaps the answer is as simple as being human.

Perhaps your purpose is to provide care, to show compassion and to communicate on behalf of those in your care who are vulnerable or unable to communicate. Perhaps being the best [human] you can be, is your purpose?

But what does this mean at work?  It's more than being nice, it’s about actively showing up at work, not being a passive bystander.  It’s about speaking up when things aren’t working, rather than resigning yourself to the accepted status quo.  It’s about calling out unacceptable behaviour, inefficient systems and redundant ways of working.

Being the best human you can be, is about participation.

I’m presenting my AuditMindset Masterclass at the NDS conference on 4th and 5th March 2019 [From Obstacles to Opportunities.]  Here I’ll be looking at how everyone can show up and participate at work, keeping the human in human services.
