Lack of leadership buy in is one of the biggest frustrations for people working in quality.
It’s often the reason people tell me they change jobs. Unfortunately, it can be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Quality is still seen as a function separate to leadership and getting leaders to embrace quality rather than tolerate it can be a challenge.
Here are three ways you can build buy in of the quality role and take the pain out of communicating quality.
????? - know the value quality provides, this could be financial, safety, customer engagement or satisfaction? Be able to quantify it in a way that makes sense.
??????? - be clear about the purpose of quality - what’s your elevator pitch?
???? - be realistic about what’s possible, what resources are needed and how much it’s going to cost. No one likes a constantly dripping tap.
How do you get buy in for quality?
